Would it be unrealistic to try to catch the 10.55 train from Burnley Manchester Road to Manchester if it's a 7.45 kick-off?

No. The station is 20 minutes walk from the ground at most.

...though both Jeff and I would be slowing on the last uphill section.

Any practical advice for trains to West Brom, from people who have been there before?

I see that they have got a train and metro station near the ground, does anyone know which is the better option?

Are they not the same station?
Yes. I just wondered if people thought the train or the metro were better.

I guess the more important question, is where it's best to grab a pint before the game. Is it best to stay in Birmingham, or are there any decent pubs near the ground?

Near the ground, If you like Indian food try the Vine, decent beers as well but a bit of a walk from the station

I noticed that on one of the ground guides, cheers.

Might be a bit far for one of our group, whose knees aren't the greatest though, but certainly worth considering.

Train all the way is cheaper (the train to the Hawthorns costs the same as a train to Birmingham), but it involves a 10 minute walk between stations in Birmingham.

If you want to use the tram, buying a Birmingham plusbus ticket with your train ticket is cheaper than buying the tram ticket separately. It's valid on all buses and trams in Birmingham.

Yeah I just had a look at that thanks.

I think we're probably going to have a drink in Birmingham, so we can wander between the two stations and use the train all the way.

We'll be in the Vine if you make it that far

I’ve never met another TBer. I don’t intend to, either, as you all seem a bit weird. Don’t tell fox58, though, as I was being polite.
I've only meeet one & to be fair I knew him before I realised he was posting on here

Anyone travel on the official coaches?

I'm a bit allergic to weirdos knitting filbert fox teddies on away trips but it seems a decent way to get to Liverpool for £18

Just realised this forum barely get's used.

I have as a last resort, but saying that it's ok no reserved seat though so if you want to sit together get there early to beat the window lickers

Pretty much the worst way to travel in my opinion. I’ll qualify this by saying the last time I used it was Yeovil away in League One, so over ten years ago. Uncomfortable as **** and took an eternity to get there. National Express is better if you’re happy doing that.
