Well another great game at the walkers and one thing taken from the game is the title above. the team played fairly well today and the ref ****ed it up for us. however if we are going to do anything this season which i doubt after today, then we need a whole new forward line up.
scowy is never gonna score the goals we need i donr care what anyone syas, blake is shit and again wont score the goals, conners will not score any goals waste of time, zand we have given him too much. we are never going to get promoted at this rate relying on midfield to supply all of our goals (nalis).
maybe this seems over the top but to be honest its pure reality we are not good enough upfront.

however on a good note richard was cracking today, he really does look the part, shame he was on the losing side.

looking at the table our 'Goals For' column does make poor viewing.CL needs to be given just £500,000 to gey a Striker in,without that happening I just can't see where our goals to get us promoted are going to come from.Good news about Stearman though.

There have been some more than unusually absurd postings recently on this site around promotion etc. Even the Webmaster who normally is quite sensible has been contemplating automatic promotion and thought that getting into the play offs was no great problem!!

For God's sake we haven't beaten a half-decent side all season!

Let's get things straight. On the plus side, the mismanagement of MA/DB has been rectified. On the other side this is a mediocre side with NO repeat NO strikers worthy of the City shirt.

Give CL time to rectify the blindingly obvious. The guy says himself he doesn't yet know his "best side". He won't because without any strikers there is no best side - now just let's all forget about nonsense about getting promoted this year and give the manager some decent time to sort things out.

Not sure why he didnt bring Benjamin on to be honest, Blake must think hes onto a winner if he can produce 90 minutes of utter crap and not be replaced

I don't know why everyone keeps on supporting Benjamin as he does about as much as Blake but everyone seems to be blind to that we need a whole new strike force as we have noone that is going to put the ball into the net apart from Nalis who we are relying on to much. Adams brought in a lot of crap and next summer CL needs to get rid of that crap as it is if you've not guessed crap. The most entertaining bit of that game was where someone behind me shouted out when the ref gave a bad decision 'Your obviously wearing blue and white today ref' and then a minute later realised what she had said and then said 'White shirt blue shorts that is' may not seem that funny but it was at the time in that boring game. You had to be there.

I'd given up on Benjamin a long time ago, fell over his own feet once too often for my liking.

i was there mate i will tell you one thing. Benji will give 200% more than any of our strikers and will i promise score maore goals than blake conners and scowy put together. u slag him of for being shitbut he scores when given the chance. can we please agree on the fact that conners and scowy are not going to score the goals needed, so give bvenji and wright a chance, they cannot do worst than current.

I was dissapointed with todays result but i thought there were a few main problems with the team:

-we didn't have a left winger, which men't that jordan stewart was left exposed to much of the time and he had to do the defending and attickin . although i did think he played well

-Blake and scowy did realy not work as a front two,. there was no communication and i thought scowy had probably his worst game of the season.

-Dabizas seemed quite dodgy in defence and alongside dublin(what the hell he was doing with that header back ill never know, fortunaltely stearmen picked up the pieces) they really did noit inspire me with confidece and we need more pace there.

- Midfield. had a bad day today in general. Nalis seened a bit slow and passing was sloppy, and he was afraid too shoot. Gemil is also afraid to shoot anmd also slows up the game when we are quickly moving the ball about, corners were also bad. Gillespie did ok probably the best of the midfield. J. Gudjonsen worked hard as usual but his shooting is that of similarity to stefan freunds.

All i'm sure valid points, I couldn't make today, but here's some hope...

Morris can play left-wing, Tiatto behind him, connoly must be better up front, and Williams I believe will be better than we've seen yet...

You might be right Lako but I think we both agree that none of our Strikers are the answer, none of them are going to score 15-20 goals a season.I just dont rate Benjamin, can't help it.

i agree hes not the answer lonf term but feel we need a change. im not sure what the answer is but im sure we need to change things with the front two

I agree we don't have much cop up front. Connolly could come good but apart from him who else is there...

Surely we could fund a striker with the sale of Scowcroft, he's not a goalscorer. I don't ever remember him getting 15 goals a season for anyone. I'd take £500k anyday if Palace or Norwich offered it.

The only problem is with £500k is, who can you get for that nowdays? I'm sure Crewe would be looking for around £2-3million for Ashton. So it's either a has been AGAIN or a young Premierleague unknown or a gamble on a lower league or foreign player.

Pawel Abbott of Huddersfield would be abit of a gamble, but he's getting quality reports.

Perhaps the best thing to do right now would be to loan someone in.

Scowcroft & any other clubs are going to wait now until he is out of contract at the end of the season -the reasons are obvious from both his & interested clubs standpoints.

I agree with FOX MENTAL, we played to narrow Gullespie and Steward did not get involved enough, but not their fault, the midfield did not suppy gillespie the ball and steward was defending all match.
But give reading some credit here, they defended well and played like we did under MON. nothing fancy, simple football, closed us down and kept their head. Even though we had 60% of the possetion.
We cant score goals. ma made sure of that.

As for benjamin, I wanted him to come on. but I am glad Levien did not let the fans dictate that. We need a manager that is respected and he would have lost all respect if he had surcome to the fans chants.

Levien needs time to get his squad together,

Lets be honest, like many others have stated this is a mediocre side, that is one dimensional and lacks creativity and a cutting edge. Too many players have been signed on reputation and sadly have failed to deliver.

We lack quality in a number of positions and CL has a massive rebuilding job on his hands. The squad in general is ageing with a number of players well over 30, we lack movement and generally look unable to play fast flowing fluent football or at a high tempo, with these older players in the squad.

IMO we need a decent right back and left back to put pressure on Makin and Stewart, Stearman now needs to be blooded alongside Keown or Heath for the majority of this season to aide and further his development and prepare him for next season. In midfield we must build the team around Gareth Williams, he is by far and away our most talented midfielder and has the ability to dictate a game if given the opportunity and licence. We need a defensive midfielder, Joey is not the answer, although he always give 110% he lacks quality and is too rash in everything he does, IMO give Dawson a chance and if he fails to show the necessary potential then look in the summer at bringing in somebody with the quality to allow Williams to express himself and stamp his authority on matches.

Out wide we seem ok on the left with Tiatto and Morris, who I think once gets match fit will be a useful squad player, on the right I think we need to bring somebody in as I think Gillespie is a bit too inconsistent and drifts in and out of games too much. Upfront I would keep Connolly as I think he will come good for us and possibly Tommy Wright who at least would be a decent sub to bring on but the rest are mediocre, lack movement and bring little to the team. Rather than us plumping for the typical English style bustling target man, I would like to see us go for a player like Ricardo Fuller who likes to run at players and get the crowd off their arses, gives the defenders something to worry about, therefore allowing Connolly a bit more space in and around the box.

The players I would let go in the summer would be : Walker, Makin, Gillespie, Gemmill, Dublin, Dabizas, Elliott, Nalis, Wilcox, Benjamin, Blake and Scowcroft.

Players I would like to see bought in : Stuart Taylor, Alan Maybury, Dickson Etuhu, Richie Partridge, Danny Coid, Neil Lennon (captain), Riccardo Fuller, Derek Riordon, Youl Mawene

All the players on your 'out' list are out of contract anyway... along with Pressman of course.

Redditch Fox; I bet ya someone would cough up something even now & save battling it out later for him. Clubs have done it in the past & it would benefit someone like Norwich or Palace who could do with him now.

I agree with PFKAKTF FOX, there is a hell of alot of building to do & I'd love to see Neil Lennon back here! I still don't think we have a natural leader here, someone who can pick these players up & get us back fighting when were down.

Someone like Fuller would be ideal, I think we are missing Marcus Bent this season who is the same style of player.

I've supported Leicester since I was a toddler now & what I really don't understand with Leicester fans is... what is the rush to get back to the Premier? We've shown how poor we are now this season, we don't have the money to buy decent proven players. So we have to look at youth & shrewd signings from CL. Another season here won't harm us, it gives CL time to look at who he wants to bring in & get rid of this bulk lot of "once was good players" we have here.

I really don't want to see us promoted this season, sounds mad I know, but think about it. Will CL be handed £15-30 million if we do? how many players would still be here if we scraped our way back? Could we attract quality players yet?

I'd be happy with 7th this season, if CL can achieve that he's done a good job in my eyes.

If I was looking for a player who would make a good attacking left-wingback, I'd look at Scottish International Richard Hughes of Portsmouth. I've seen him on numerous occasions & he looks a handy player, plus he isn't a regular at Pompey. He gives 110% & certainly knows how to score a goal.
