Football League clubs will be following the Premier League in being able to name 7 substitutes in the match day squad for the coming season (obviously still only be able to use 3). Good news, I like that personally.

And to commemorate our League 1 title win, we'll be wearing gold Football League badges on the sleeves this season (similar to the Premiership champions do). Don't worry, you'll be able to buy them from the club megastore soon! Yes! Get in!

Ha Ha.... Take that Peterborough.

I wonder if Wolves will be visiting Old Trafford next season with bright shiny patches that say Fizzy League Champions :)

What if a team fails to have 18 fit players? it is a possibility in the (even) lower 2 leagues with tiny squads, no youth policy, etc

Then they won't name a squad of 18... same as they wouldn't name a squad of 16 now if they didn't have 16 available players.

There most likely won't be any penalty - I think it was Bolton last season who didn't field the maximum allowed amount of subs and as far as I know nothing happened to them.

Yeah, you're perfectly entitled to not name any substitues at all as far as I know.

There were several cases just in the past season I think of lower league clubs not being able to name enough subs for even league games I think. In the Carling Cup last year it was 7 subs, and I think there were a few teams that couldn't have hat many.

Thanks for the speedy reply. However, I'm concerned with what penalties the football league may impose to teams who cant get 18 players available

Why should that concern or worry you?
