I just read Nintendo are looking at getting the rights to issue this old classic N64 game on the Wii's virtual console.. that would be friggin' immense! It would be especially ace if they would tweak in some kind of online multiplayer for it...

Goldeneye is still the best FPS ever made IMO and the mutiplayer is immense! Imagine if they could get this online!

And also the DS was branded as a gimmick but it is massively outselling the 360 and PS3 everywhere!

I am 90% sure now I will be getting a Wii over 360 in december. The games on the Wii simply look more fun than 360's, I don't want to play another sports/driving sim I want fresh new experiences.

Gaming, for me, is pretty boring at the moment but this new control system could change the industry on the same level as the change from 2D to 3D!

I am not dissing 360 it's got great games but you can't just give the Nintendo a label like that (although I think you comment was probably deliberately provocative )

you wouldn't happen to have read that DS is the top selling console in the UK on gamesradar would you?

Glad someone else is looking forward to it anyway, I shall have to give you a pasting online when there are some games that are online-compatible with it... i.e. smash bros - I think this will be great

Metroid 3 is the big one for me.

The UK 'Wii Tour' is actually coming to Leicester (The Shires) but the catch is.. not until late January (25th-27th) so by the time it hits our area it'll already be out for sure... still - handy for anyone who fancies trying it out before they buy into the 'gimmick'

Goldeneye is not the best FPS of all time. It certainly showed the way forward and the split screen play on the N64 was excellent fun for that time. It was a shame that the Playstation 1 outsold the 64 as it was a far better console in my opinion.

I would be very surprised if RARE sell the rights for the original game as they are now on Bill Gates payroll, but money does talk.

Actually Activision now own the rights to the Bond games but obviously Nintendo would have to cut some sort of deal with Rare in order for this to happen.. I wouldn't say Goldeneye is the best FPS of all time either but I would say it's one of them and it definately paved the way for all future FPS, there's no denying it was a groundbreaking game and without it you may not have had the likes of Halo. It would be a great coup for Nintendo if they could get it on to the virtual console and Rare/Microsoft would stand to earn from it aswell.
