Max Gradel sneaked the first online Man of the Match award of the season as voted for by the Leicester City fans after pipping brace-scoring Matty Fryatt at the post. There were good ratings elsewhere for Matt Oakley and the back-pairing of Michael Morrison and Aleksandar Tunchev but it appears the youngsters lost out in the battle to impress the fans with Andy King, Joe Mattock and not so young Steve Howard being the worst rated players who played long enough to qualify for the awards. No-one came away with a mark worse than average though so Andy King can probably feel harshly done by earning this award (if you're reading Andy ;-)). Full results shown below:

TOTAL VOTES: 122 (thank you!)

Man of the Match: Max Gradel - 8.24

Flop of the Match: Andy King - 6.31

Voter Awards

Note: Only what I would consider 'serious' votes are used here - anything +/- 2.00 of the overall team average has not been used. This eliminates the voters who voted all 10's or all 1's for example. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions regarding this, let me know. P.S. If you don't want to be included in this, let me know. An opt out option will be included on the site in the near future.

Top Voters: Tommy G / sheffield_fox / Joeyb / Ricey / Mikey / TVFA / simon / Bert / louie0316 / Leicester Lass / A Fox For Life / Paul / silkman / Lee Parsons - 6.92 (worked out on how close the voter was to the overall average)

Most Generous Voter: 1st - imaginethat - 7.92; 2nd - vince - 7.67; 3rd - Andy Needham - 7.58
Harshest Voter: 1st - fleetfox - 5.33; 2nd - davieG / NSLL - 6.17; 3rd - Munzie / Steve W / Sooper Steve's Shin / Tom / volpeazzurro - 6.25

And just a message from me...thank you very much for the turnout. I didn't expect this many votes for the first game when people didn't even know the site was even going to be there until after the match. Apologies for those affected by the bug that stopped people voting straight away but once it was ironed out, everything went smoothly and the ratings came flying in.

Are you saying that if a genuine report doesn't conform to the majority, then their views and opinions are rendered worthless?

Plus, if someone has a real howler, and deserves a 3 or 4 (like King did, for example), then those votes will go missing because they are more than two below the team average ?

That means the votes will never reflect reality at all

Madness

No that isn't what this means at all. Its the ones where the average from the voter is wildly out from the team average. All it does is cut out the people who have voted all 10s for example as these obviously aren't serious votes.

Didnt realise I was such a mardy git.

But seriously, I though the performance was mediocre if it wasn't for the 2nd late goal the game would have been a win from a penalty against a team that played in L2 last year who out played city for most of the game. I am sure the fact that we won increased the votes. If we had played like that and lost then the scores for performance would have been more around my level. As the votes are for performance, I think I was fair.

Gradel however was awesome and deserved MOTM
