But better than any of the other has-beens or never-has-beens or never-will-bes that we currently have

His quality isnt in doubt, he was an excellent player but I question the merit of bringing in someone else in the 'Twighlight' of their career who wont be 100% behind the cause.

I'd almost like to see the money (from his wages) go on several youth players with some potential for the future.

Was a good player, perhaps still is fairly decent, but why sign a player on loan coming to the end of his career, very injury prone when were not going anywhere this season?

Perhaps if we were abit closer to the playoffs it would be a good signing to help push for promotion.

Personally I wouldn't touch him. We could do with that style of player who likes to get forward but someone under 32 with a few GOOD years left in them would be a better option.

We are nine points off the play-offs with a game in hand, and still have 18 games to play this season

And there is still every possibility that any team in this shite league can put a run together and make that top six

Fact is we need players that are better than the shower we have right now - and Stuart is better than Nalis, Gemmill and Gudjonsson all put together, regardless of his age

The voice of wisdom strikes again.

The fact is that we are 9 points off the play-off places with a game in hand.

We need to make a late rush in the final 18 games and who knows, maybe a day trip to Cardiff is on the cards.

Get Stuart in as soon as possible so that he can bolster that midfield and make us a force to be reckoned with.

Plagarism is the key, lets copy Chelsea.

Don't think he's the answer.

he may be better than Gemmill but not Nallis or Gudjonsson, maybe in his day but not now.

Stuart may be a bit old but he is still a quality player and could do a good job for us if he comes in on loan. Plus not all of the dads army we have signed have been woeful-les ferdinand is a name that comes to mind, so don't tar them all with the same brush. Plus if its only a loan deal, then if he is crap we can get rid anyway.

i think he would be a quality player for our team.It is What we need. Hes
a bit out of the billy Mckinlay mould!!

Would be a good signing IMO, good player, experienced, looks after himself and would also fill the problem central midfield berth alongside Williams until the summer, CL has obviously identified we need a central midfielder but realises that in the summer he can fill the gap on a permanent basis ( Kisnorbo), this would be a great signing as it would give us a springboard for the last 18 games to go and clinch a play off place. Good move by CL at least he is not writing this season off and waiting for the summer.

No more stop gap signings I thought CL said?No doubting he's good enough but not the answer especially short term,on a 2 year contract then maybe.I think CL wanted to lower the age of the squad but that doesn't mean playing with a team full of under 28's etc

I dont think we cfan take comment literally. The odd older player is good and there is nothing wrong with using a player as a stop gap. The problem occures when the whole squad is made up of old has beens
