Gregory tipped for City return
by Tim Murray
Former Leicester City first-team coach John Gregory is being strongly backed to return as the club's next manager.
And Blackpool boss Simon Grayson's price has also been trimmed after the Seasiders revealed they would not stand in the way of him leaving the club.
Gregory, who has managed Aston Villa, Wycombe, Derby and Queen's Park Rangers since his spell at City under Brian Little in the '90s, was 16-1 with Leicester bookmakers Mark Jarvis when betting opened this week.
But he has been backed into 3-1 third-favourite behind Billy Davies and Grayson.
It is a similar story with Victor Chandler, who have trimmed the former England midfielder's odds from 20-1 to 4-1.
Jarvis spokesman Scott Upton said: "We have some heavy liabilities over Gregory. About 75 per cent of the business in the last 24 hours has been for him.''
Chandler's Dave Jenkins said: "We had a flurry of bets for John Gregory on Wednesday evening and they appear to be from some very informed sources.
"We had him in at 20-1 but quickly cut that to 12-1. That price was also taken and we cut him to 9-1 before we decided to suspend the market.
