They went further than a club of their size could ever expect to go. They would never be able to survive in the SPL without financial help.

It's more an example of what can happen when a club is financed by one man who takes away his support.

I understand that they were a number of Junior/Highland teams eyeing up Gretna's spot. They were very angry when Gretna got the spot in the first place. I forgot the team (I think it's Spartans) that are actively seeking a spot - they want East Stirling out and have recently upgraded their ground.
