How much research was done on the site of the walkers stadium before it was built. Was it that bare knuckle champion Rufus Hardman,s eviction in 1874 who decreed that nobody from the city will make good of this land.
O.k maybe thats complete bollox but i can't help thinking that we left Filbo and inherited a curse at the walkers.
Of course its probaly that the team is simply not up to it, but my other theory is that we don't feel at home at the walkers.
Having followed city through many dark times i always felt filbo had its own character which the walkers has not developed. On a poor day at filbo there was more atmosphere in a 14000 crowd than in a 28000 at the walkers.I have come to the conclusion that the away teams enjoy playing at our ground more than we do.
Lets hope CL sorts this mental block about the walkers,if not i will start to think there realy was a Rufus Hardman
