Didi Hamann has today (Tuesday) been appointed the new manager of Stockport County.
The 37-year-old former Germany international, brought in as City's first team coach in February, takes his first steps into management after agreeing a one-year contract at Edgeley Park.
Didi's appointment follows a recent takeover of the Blue Square Premier club, whose relegation from League 2 last season ended a 105-year stay in the Football League.
Everyone at the Club would like to thank Didi for his contribution to Leicester City during the five months he has been with the Foxes and wish him every success in his new role.
City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson said: "It is disappointing news that Didi has left us. He worked extremely well with the players and coaching staff and had a positive influence at the Club.
"Didi is a good man, a good coach and I am sure he will be a successful manager. Whilst it is a pity that we have lost him, I understand his decision as he has the ambition and the ability to become a manager.
"I would like to place on record my thanks to Didi for his hard work and wish him the best of luck. I am sure he will do well at Stockport and I hope we will see him again in the future."
