He was good for the one full game he played, however he was sent back because he picked up injury after injury so I doubt he would represent a good aquisition.

That was the official line but I have it on good authority that he picked up another knock and Bassett lost patience with him. Apparently this thing happens quite often to protect the player from being labelled as 'injury prone'

The version I heard Bassett say in an interview, is that he told Harper he couldn't guarantee him a place in the team, so Harper decided to go back to Portsmouth, because they had injuries and he thought he'd be able to get into their team.
