Good, though I doubt he’ll start this week, simply because he won’t have trained with the team the reaction when he comes on will be big

I’d put him straight in to start seeing as our next two games are away from game.

Would rather have him in the team than Ghezzal or Gray right now.

Barnes on left, Maddison in the middle, Albrighton on the right. All behind Vardy.

Is the only option if we persist with playing two defensive midfielders in every sodding game

At least he keeps Gray and Ghezzal out of the team, which can only be a good thing

Oh yes absolutely. I was just presuming his stubbornness wasn’t going to change.

Gives us another option that is needed but can't see him being much better than what we have already.

Obviously would love to be proved wrong but would have rather seen him carry the season and his development there and for us to try and sign someone more accomplished.

Our last winger from the division below has been deemed not good enough by the majority so I'm struggling to see the excitement here as PL football is very different to the Championship.

People are getting excited as not every footballer to have played in the championship is certain to be as shit as Gray and we don't really have much to be excited about this season as it is.

People have arrived at that opinion of Gray over three years of watching him. Barnes has scored more goals in half a season at WBA than Gray did in all of his time at Birmingham so of course people are excited to see him play in the Prem. What has people being pleased to see Barnes got to do with Gray? It’s the manager’s decision who plays, whether one, both or neither make it onto the pitch he’s another attacking player in a side with not many attacking players. Beats an overpriced panic buy in my opinion.

To Ted's point Gray never achieved anything like what Barnes has in the Championship. Perhaps he will get another chance to soon.

Not for me, Gray. Excited to see what Barnes can do.

to be fair Gray is a year older than Barnes is and has been here for nearly 3 years already, he played for Birmingham at 17/18, if he went on loan to a top promotion chasing championship side he would destroy that league

You've said that before. I've seen nothing to suggest it.

Whereas people's opinions on Barnes has been based on not watching him.

WBA are a much better team than Birmingham were in Gray's time there, Barnes is a few years older than Gary was playing in the Championship and comparing players in pretty much the exact same position seems a valid comparison.

No one mentioned anything about an overpriced panic buy but imo, if the fans are demanding 7th place as minimum, we need to be looking to add proven quality rather than pinning our hopes on a youngster that has never played at this level so far.

I've not seen him play myself but from what I have read about him, he seems more of an Albrighton type wide player whereas we need more of a Mahrez who can dictate the game and provide that something special that top PL teams need to sometimes win a game out of nothing.
