Can't say I agree there, Helguson is a quality Chamionship player, and don't think he wouldn't cost much as he turned down a contract offer from Watford, so they would probably look to sell him.
But having said that, I don't think he will be coming to us

Quite - some people haven't yet noticed that the club is in a drastic cost cutting mode -which it has signalled is going to get a lot worse - further £2m off the wages bill for 2006/07.

the club are in cost cutting mode for players but seem willing to waste money on festivals with people nobody would want to see. i would imagine helguson wont be on that much if he is at watford, worth a try as he knows where the goal is

I truley doubt that Paul Mace wke up one morning and thought 'what would be a good way to wate money?'. That concert was oviously done to try and bring in extra cash for the club, but oviously thats not allowed is it Fitz?

And yet money from event like that may just give us the money to buy players like helguson. IT was a good idea in theory, but sometimes things don't always work out the way we would like.

My understanding through some work connections is that they are npt only renowned for muddled thinking especially on community/ events planning matters but they also fall out amongst themselves - deep into a blame culture etc.

thanks steven, almost saved me replying, but i'll do it anyway. i would of thought anyone with half a brain would think a festival with a couple of failed pop stars on one day, and the other day to have a band who have spent the last 5 or so years playing in local pubs to then fill the stadium would be a bit of a risk
