Hello,

As I know that most of you are people of great wisdom, I thought the best place to ask this question would be here.

Basically, my problem is this:

I recently bought 4 tickets from Ticketmaster for the Arcade Fire gig in Manchester. I have recently moved house and being unorganised had not, at the time of purchase, changed my credit card billing address with either the credit card company, or Ticketmaster.

I changed my address with my credit card company that lunchtime and also contacted Ticketmaster and sent a completed copy their 'Change of Address' form to them.

I have since had a reply from them saying that changing my billing address with the credit card company will not affect my tickets and they will be sent to the old address (it then said 'I hope you enjoy the gig' which is a bit of a twattish comment as I won't get the tickets if they are sent to my old address).

Has anyone ever had this problem or can anyone tell me what I should do. Also, if anyone has got a phone number for Ticketmaster I'd be grateful if you could let me know as all I get through to is one of those beastly computerised phone systems.

Thanking for in advance.

Joe

Anyone? Come on, surely someone can help?

I had a problem with Ticketmaster where they sent tickets to the wrong address, they put some more on the door for me to pick up on the night of the gig, just make sure you have something in writing from them though. Alternatively have you thought of going back to your old address and asking them to put the envelope to one side when it arrives so you can pick it up later? :icon_roll

No need for the rolling eyes Ox! :icon_lol:
I have thought about going round but to be honest the gig isn't until 9th November so surely Ticketmaster can sort it out by then. The tickets won't get sent out for a while anyway (I wouldn't have imagined).

I'll ring the barstools tonight. Thanks.

Any more advice from anyone? Telephone numbers?

Did you send Ticketmaster all the information they needed?

This is from the help page on their site - it includes a phone number:

Yes, I did, and then called them yesterday to hear that they have already been posted out - and now I have to pick them up on the door on the night of the gig. Why have they been so efficient this time? Sods law I guess.

They have been cancelled.

Surprised they've sent them this early, they usually hang on to them until a couple of weeks before (to prevent touting on ebay? not that it works), only just received mine for this month.

yeah but if they have been sent out already how can they be cancelled!

when the gig comes around, the guys at the door wont know they have been cancelled they will just rip them in half!
But when Joe takes his seat, somebody else will be sat in it. The men in yellow will check the tickets and see Joe's is a replacement.

If the holder of the original ticket is clever, he'll wait until th gig has started and then take their seats in unoccupied ones

If it's seated only, there shouldn't be any spare ones, it's sold out. But if it's standing it would be difficult to stop people using the cancelled tickets.

Unfortunately it's seats because the standing ones sold so quickly.
I would prefer to stand really.

I might just ask on the door if I can stand - or say "no, I had standing tickets" I'm sure they won't care too much.

Any advice here?

(also a theory has come to me - surely you could receive tickets, cancel them and get more on teh door after selling the 'cancelled' tickets to touts on the street outside the gig! Easy money??

Finally got my tickets so this matter is resolved.
