has a right dig at allen for signing all those players, then leaving some of them in the lurch

IAN HOLLOWAY says Martin Allen’s crazy summer spending turned Leicester into a real-life version of Dream Team.

The new Foxes boss cannot believe Allen signed 13 players in the summer.
Allen was axed after just three games, leaving players in limbo — and they have not recovered.

Holloway, who took over after Gary Megson quit, said: “There’s been an awful lot of turmoil at this club. It’s been like a story for Dream Team, but even then people would think it’s unrealistic!

“There were four players that didn’t even get on the team sheet at the start of the season, which is an horrendous thing to do to a human being. I want to give them a family to belong to.”

There are players who should never get on to any team sheet.
Ollie needs to start shipping a few out, if he can find anywhere to offload them!

The 4 in question were not newcomers.

I think that is what he said. :102:

If Megson had said what "Ollie" did, I'm sure it would have received a different reaction.

Just seen Ollie interviwed live on SSN.

I'm impressed. The guy is funny, motivational, ambitious and the panel said that he is going to make people want to play hard for Leicetser City. It has impressed even an old cynic like me. Holloway could be the best manager since MON - maybe happy days on the way.

TBh I couldn't be interested in how whacky and what a comedian he is.Just want someone who can turn us into a decent team.

It's somewhat misdirected to blame Allen.

I don't think that too many people believe that Allen made all the signings.

I'm sure Holloway as an insider in football knows this perfectly well. I suspect that Holloway has come to the same not very difficult conclusion as Megson i.e. that our squad is pretty crap. That said, there are some undoubtedly promising young players coming through the ranks.

Agree 100%.
I would actually go further and suggest that Holloway knows that Allen didn't sign all the players in the summer. He is trying to ensure that he is not pressured to accept heaps of mediocre players from Milan, but, rightly, does not want to criticise his chairman in public.

Allen had the final yes or no, he proved that to be the case with the hasslebaink incident.

To be fair he was right regarding Hasselbaink. Even though at the time I was thinking otherwise. :icon_redf

JFH isn't the best thing to hit Cardiff nor is RF, however we don't know how he would have fitted in here.

True. But we can guess. No service from the wing or midfield. Probably better off at Cardiff? :icon_conf

Only proves he had the final say over JFH - nothing more.

Could well be that he had noticed by then the quality of our Next Schmeical (spelling incorrect, sorry) keeper; our Ajax superstar midfielder and our Iranian winger who is reputedly the third fastest man in the universe.

Yes certainly, because unlike Cardiff, we have a decent midfield who can provide good quality service to the strikers. :icon_roll
