Five players in tonight's starting line up came through our youth team.

Anyone know the last time we had even close to that many in the team?

I suspect it could have been during the Jock Wallace era. His youthful team certainly did the business at this level, couldn't do it once we got promoted though.

Definately good to see and something that Craig Levein should take some credit for, he came and fast tracked many of these players from Academy football into the reserves and also gave some their opportunity at senior level.

Levein did well focusing on our youth prospects (Stearman, Weso, Logan etc) and Kelly has brought a few more in (Porter and O'Grady) which is nice to see. with an average age of 22 last night they did a good job. but how would that team fair in a championship game vs Southend???

it would do better than most of our other combinations if you ask me. a radical change playing players who actually want to play for the club. porter should be a regular anyway, with confidence he will grow in class. COG needs a run in the first team line-up and elvis should feck off.

I think it would be nifty to have Fryatt and O Grady up front with Hume acting as a link to the midfield.. it might mean us playing diamond though? unless it was like..

4-3-1-2 kind of thing, then we might not lose so much width..

EDIT - alright.. forget the 0s that came out pear shaped

A bit late for this year - we have just completed the stage at which championship clubs in the league cup were seeded.

Actually, it's not surprising that City have been able to grow some players at home recently, seeing as there's been an abundance of shit around the place....

its not the only place there's been an abundance of shit... see TB general chat yesterday :icon_lol:

I'm thinking of growing some players at home. Any tips?

if you're growing them in your loft with bright lamps, make sure you have thick roofing, the police can pick up the lamps with the IR cameras they have on helicopters

Also, beware, because the lights use so much electricity, the electricity companies now regularly inform the old bill when usage goes up in a particular street. Two raids were made locally on this information ( also, the idiots had hacked into the electricity, so this made it stand out even more like a sore thumb on the electricty company's records ).

Hear about the guys that were caught when the police helicopter noticed their roof was the only one with no snow on it? :icon_lol:
