With my BB in MSM, I have separate folders showing for ringtones, video, music, pictures etc. With the HTC the folder structure is different and I'm getting confused!

If I connect to my PC in MSM, whereabouts on my Desires SD card should I drag and drop music, video and picture files to so they are accessible on the phone? What about importing my ringtones?

Is synchronisation the only way?

Thanks.

I just added Music, Ringtones, Notifications (for text tones etc) etc. folders on the memory card whilst connected to the PC in disk drive mode, the system finds things no problem.

I'll try that later.

Thanks again Biffa. You've been helpful on two of my Desire queries now, I'll have to make you a 'special' TB friend :icon_bigg

Happy to help, I spend (waste) a good portion of my workday looking at tech websites and can occasionally make use of what I learn.

I must be doing something wrong. I've added folders called Video and Ringtones and it hasn't found the contents :icon_cry:

Any ideas? Cheers!

Sorted :icon_lol:

Probably my incomplete instructions fooled you, should have said the system will find them when you disconnect from the PC, the phone can't access the memory card when it is connected in disk drive mode.

Not exactly. I had to put the ringtones in a subfolder within the existing media folder.

As to the videos, once they were converted from MPG and AVI to 3Gp they were fine!

I'll have to start a new thread just for HTC Desire owners :icon_bigg
