Re: Hull win City of Culture :icon_roll

I'm torn as to whether or not this is a good thing. It's mostly a tag line to make a place sound better, those looking to invest may see that Hull now has a polished turd accreditation, it's still a turd?

Re: Hull win City of Culture :icon_roll

We've already pissed untold thousands down the shitter on the bid process, for something that no one really gives a flying feck about

Praise the good Baby Jebus that the powers that be decided to tell Soulsby and his cronies to go and do one, so we do not squander squillions more on a complete pile of pointless crap

King Souless of Leicester will be declaring war on Dull any minute now.

Re: Hull win City of Culture :icon_roll

There's already plenty of culture in Hull

Sadly, it's mainly growing in their kitchens

They'll be rolling it in glitter to try and disguise it though.

Well at least we will soon have the Jubilee Square where we can all go and sing Kumbaya. Isn't Soulsby wonderful.

I find it wholly appropriate that J Arthur Rank was born in Hull.

An Ego-boosting n*b. His first act was to lumb the taxpayer with 6 additional 'assistant mayors' who are paid more and can claim more. It was an act to strength his position within his party as the only real danger he politically faces is being turfed out by his own party (in particular Cllr. Willmott).

The City Council's budgets are to be cut by around 70% over the next three years. That's not his problem I agree but the way he's on this constant publicity parade hardly and his chasing of EU bidded money makes a very annoyed workforce. He's not concentrating on the inner problems; he felt the need to get rid of a Chief Executive, so he should pick up the slack in leadership of the Council.

Anyway from tomorrow, I'm outta of here.

Judging by his house hunting tactics, he's moving to work in Brum. Not sure that's a step up.
