I regard the pundits with an admiration that borders on reverence,

Around Christmas of Nigel Pearson's final season I thought we were doomed. I thought we were doomed when Claudio took over and until the victory at Man City thought we would fall away. At the start of last season I was really pleased at the signing of Slimani since I felt we needed a tall striker who would score more goals than Shinji. I never dreamed that Claudio would be sacked.

In short my opinion is worthless. My only excuse is that I am not paid. Over the last three seasons the pundits must have spotted all I have missed. If Mr Wright Mr Shearer and Mr Mills had been consistently wrong the BBC would have stopped paying them.

Most entertainment is predictable. I know Bond will win and Madame Butterfly will die. Unlike the experts I have no idea whether we will beat Brighton or where we will end up in the table and that for me is part of the enjoyment.

I was going to include Mr Lineker among the pundits but his function is to be compelling but tragic viewing. He used to be the refreshing voice of sanity. However, n the last couple of years he seems to have gone slightly bonkers . In Star Wars terms since growing his beard he is the pundit that went to the Dark Side.

Have I missed something?

Well obviously I have at some point but have I missed something that I'm not aware I've missed as apposed to something that I've missed that I know I've missed, if that's even possible.

I cannot help you on this. However, Mr Shearer, Mr Mills and Mr Wright will have spotted what you missed.
