i was wondering if anyone could give any advice on whats the best package out there for my house next year at uni? Theres 4 of us and we will need to have wireless, but the thing im confused about is do we have to buy a router seperately or will the internet provider supply us with one

i really have no ****ing clue what to do !

Some ISPs will supply a wireess router 'free', others will charge for one, others won't supply them. If you need to buy one separately you should be able to get one for around £30, so factor that into the cost when you compare ISPs.
Also look at the minimum contracts - some ISPs insist on a minimum contract of 12 months or more, so you may end up paying for longer than you need it if you're only going to be there for 9-10 months.

When I got t'internet in my house up at Uni, NTL (now Virgin) did a special deal for students where the contract length was only 9 months so you weren't paying for it whilst you were not there.

God knows if they will be doing it again but if they are you will know about it, there were loads of NTL people at the freshers fair trying to get people to sign up. Also, we had 2 or 3 people try and sell it to us on the doorstep.

Would highly recommend them as well, never had any problems in the 2 years I had it up at uni and have never had problems with it in Leicester either.

They are doing it again ... we have just delivered all the information packs to the universities.
