I have just bought an iPad which I will collect tomorrow.

At the moment my internet connection is through a cable from NTL (Virgin Media). The shop tells me that I will not be able to access the internet without a Wireless Router which they hope to sell me for about £60. Are they right?

Unless it's very old your Virgin Media thing might already have wireless built in.

If not, you should be able to pick up a wireless router for around £20.

Even if your virgin modem doesn't have wifi you should be able to connect a wifi computer to the ipad and share the Internet.
