if any of the players who look as though they are on the way out from their clubs this month (eg Maynard, Kebe, Sharp etc) play in tomorrows FA Cup 3rd Round and in doing so become cup tied for any potential new club. Could also effect their sell on value.

The FA cup was dying long before ITV got their hands on it.

The money for finishing high in the Prem (or staying / getting there) plus the lure of the champions league money meant the league became much more important for clubs in the top two divisions and the cup became an unwanted distraction.
