Just a point to raise by way of reminder

The only way that the January transfer window can affect us is in the highly unlikely occurrence of a Premiership club wanting to buy one of our players

We can buy or loan anyone we want from anyone at any time
And any team outside of the Prem can loan or buy any of our players at any time

Just to stop people saying "I think we should buy x number of players in the January window" or "I've heard x number of players are going in January"

It's becoming very very annoying

We can buy/loan them now if we could afford to

yeh fair point but it will affect us in the slighlty more likely event of us poaching 1 or 2 players from hearts - which looks like it might be a real possibility now

it does apply to scotland i think but because it doesn't apply to us would it stop us buying someone from them?

It applies to Hearts buyingloaning from us, in the same way it would apply to a Prem club buying/loaning from us

But, if we had the money, we could buy the whole of Hearts' first team tomorrow

There is NO window for us bringing players into this club

And that applies to us buying from Celtic, Chelsea, Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern Munich or Coalville Town

It's not just some fans who are confused about the transfer window, I've heard so-called experts on the radio talking about us signing players then (for example Ali Mauchlen on Radio Leicester).

I think that some of this is the fact that players who are out of contract in the summer will be able to sign pre-contract agreements in January, effectively meaning that we (and every other club) can start to "sign" those players in January. More and more players are moving at the end of their contracts, so the pre-contract window is becoming more and more important.

Or am I just talking crap again?

So, for example, Mark de Vries is out of contract at Hearts in the summer, and there has already been speculation that both City and Sheff Utd are interested. Both clubs may try and sign him on a pre-contract agreement, and the danger of the other club doing this first could hasten one of the clubs making a bid for him now to secure his signature. Faced with what is effectively a fire sale, Hearts will try and collect any sort of fee possible by selling in January rather than letting him go for free. Ultimately, the power lies with the player and his agent, who will decide how they can fleece as much cash as possible from everyone concerned!

Hence, there will probably be a lot more transfer activity in January than there was in December.

Or am I still talking crap?
