Development Squad striker Josh Gordon has joined Walsall on a permanent three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old was a regular for Leicester City’s Development Squad in their 2017/18 campaign as the Foxes finished third in Division 1 of Premier League 2.

Gordon arrived at Leicester City in 2017 from Stafford Rangers and will now link up with League 1 side Walsall, who continue their campaign with a trip to Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

The Football Club would like to wish Josh the best of luck in his future career.

Wow, surprising. He was one of the ones I was hoping to see more of in the cup competitions or to have sent out on loan.

Perhaps he'll find his level at League 1. Couldn't see him ever getting close to our first team. At 23 he's young but not especially so. We tried and it didn't work out, healthy approach for all concerned.

I hadn't seen a lot of him but what little I had seen suggests he had better potential than George Thomas, Callum Elder and a host of our other u23s...

I watched most of the home under 23s games that were being streamed, and some of the away games. Only saw them in the flesh once though, at Carlisle.
Gordon never seemed to have much of an end product. I'd have rated him as one of the least likely I that team to make it as a Premier League player.

Last season Elder was a second choice left back in league one for Wigan, so I was expecting him to be one of the first to leave this summer.
He played a lot in pre-season (not at left back though), and looked OK. Not good enough to be named in our 25 man squad though so I expect he'll be loaned out again.
