A friendly against Posh arguably cost Micky Adams his job at Leicester City, but Paul Merson can thank Fry's boys for saving his job. Merson was a relieved man after the game as his job had been under threat after Walsall's shock FA Cup defeat at non-league Slough Town the previous week.

PAUL MERSON: "The players and the fans reacted superbly and we thoroughly deserved to win.

"The fans booed us off at half-time as nothing had gone right for us. We conceded a bad goal and missed numerous opportunities at the other end, but the lads showed real bottle to turn things around.

"Peterborough are a very difficult side to play against as their defensive record is excellent, but we put them under a lot of pressure and created plenty of chances."

Did that Peterborough really cost MA his job, some how i think there was more to it than after all whats with a friendly??

No.

Micky had been thinking of resigning since Preston but had been encouraged to take a week to make sure, Cork was the one in charge at Peterborough, not Micky, by Saturday Bassett was already phoning up Wilkinson...
