Just got a PS3 for ?170!

Had a call from my brother who just bought a phone and 18 month contract with orange. The deal with the phone was a PS3 (60gb) and 1 wireless controller for £170!!

No waiting 28 days for the PS3 either get it there and then, he did not want it but offered it to me.

£250 odd off trade price.

Im keeping it mate, have wanted one for ages but could not justify paying over £400 quid to the Mrs. This solves the problem perfectly.

I have heard from a lot of people who have them that the online side is shit. You can't send or listen to messages in a game. Friends list is none exsistent and the whole online side is a pile of wank. Plus you can't talk to each other as a mike is not standard, plus most don't use them anyway.

That is if you can even get online with it.

Not sure how much Sony will be able to drop the price by, they are already losing £500 on everyone sold, mainly due to the add on off the Blu-Ray player.

I do find it annoying how the USA and Japan is getting a cheaper PS3, so effectively anyone that buys a PS3 is subsidising a cheaper unit in another country.

I really fail to see how they are losing so much money on the hardware side. Unless they are costing in the R&D.

I saw the demo one in Virgin on Saturday, i was less than impressed with the movie cuts from Casino Royale. The picture was sharp but very grainy.

Blu-Ray players cost a bomb.

We alwys pay more, and its actually an inferior product as well, as its not as backwords compatable as the other versions.
