New Contract Kamal Sowah

Talented young midfielder Kamal Sowah has signed a new long-term deal with Leicester City Football Club.

The 20-year-old, who joined City from Ghanaian side Right to Dream in January 2018, has enjoyed several loan spells at OH Leuven and will again continue his development with the Belgian side this season.

Sowah made 29 appearances for OH Leuven last term as they were promoted and has appeared another six times in the Jupiler Pro League this season – including a 1-0 win over Standard Liège in which he scored the only goal.

Next up for OH Leuven and Sowah is a trip of KAA Gent on Saturday afternoon as they look to build on a positive start to the season.

Nothing against him but it really does seem to be the case that any young player only really has to have one or two decent matches before they are handed a "long term contract".

We really do chuck these contracts around a bit too freely.

There was talk that he wouldn't be able to get a work permit for the UK, and the idea was for him to play in Belgium where he can more easily get a Belgian passport, making it easier to get a work permit for the UK. A no deal brexit might change that though.
