It would seem that RK has identified areas of weakness within the squad that the original transfer budget has prevented him from addressing, but it would appear that the current trimming of the squad and some of the rumours currently doing the rounds that Kelly is desperately trying to raise funds to allow him to further develop the squad.

The recent departures of Gerrbrand, Hamill and now MDV will have helped to reduce the budget shortfall, whilst I predict that Maybury, Douglas, possibly Momo and O'Grady plus IMO one of the saleable assets (most likely Stearman or Fryatt) will be sacrificed to enable RK to continue his plans and allow him to strenghten areas that are causing concern.

I think we may well be on the verge of a make or break attempt by Kelly to reshuffle his pack and try to buy the players who can make a concerted challenge for the play off positions.

It would be a huge mistake IMO to sell Fryatt. If he had an polder target man alongside him I think he could score a lot of goals this season. At the moment he's trying to do everything on hisown and is getting frustrated.Hammond is hopeless,Hume isn't the type of Forward we need and is better coming from deep and O'Grady is too pissed to tie his boots up.steraman appears to have an attitude problem if stories are to be believed and I'd rather he went than Maybury, plus we'd get more money.however i don't think he will.

sell stearman now imo. a bit radical i know but he is obviously not putting in the effort, this transfer speculation must affect him and he probably wants to join spurs or another big prem club. his drinking antics arent doing him any good either.

****ing hell will everyone stop talking about stearman as if they know him personally and talking as if they actually have concrete proof he is verging on alchoholism.

wouldnt appreciate it if people were speculating on my life without any real evidence. still agree that if we get a couple of mill it may be worth it

Davies said at the open meeting that there is NO money for new players.....

also said that Quinn's version over the Maybury thing isn't the same as ouors..but he wouldn't expand on that....

re: Stearman i was told it was gambling more than booze.......if it's booze i think there's a few younger players at the club who need to be told how lucky they are to be in the job they are and they should appreciate they can't go and get pissed every other night.....

The slight shame about MDV being farmed out is that it would have been interesting to see if he could have played alongside Fryatt as the support/target/hold-up forward rather than as a striker, might have been utterly rubbish but it would have at least given us another option :102:

agree with you OF..... but it was an option that was never going to be tried.

Because MDV is not a target man, and also IMO he lacked the pace and movement that RK wants to see from his front men. He doesn't fit into that style of play.

I too would sell Stearman, and probably keep hold of Maybury (but only if he is keen to play for the club), as I believe his transfer value is probably at it's optimum for us, I think another season in the championship may well see him go off the boil.

the club would do well to sell stearman especially if the romours are true that 1.7mill offer has been made for him.

judging by his early performances I suspect his value has somewhat dropped now, it was apperently from spurs.

Swap Maybury for Kevin Kyle.Apparently Kyle is out of favour at Sunderland, valued at around £300,000 just the type of target man who would be good alongside Fryatt IMO.

Good shout, but I would worry about his fitness. :icon_conf :102:
