I wonder, out of the younger players, are CL and the coaches going to look at with, one presumes, the view to taking them to Scandinavia.? :) :) ;)

Any news on the team for this game yet?

I would imagine it's something like: Henderson, Stearman, McCarthy, Timpano, Sheehan, Porter, Joey, Williams, Wesolowski/Morris, O'Grady, Dodds

I don't know much about our youth and reserves though, so maybe there will be others playing I don't know about, or other trialists that I don't know about..

I hope the OS puts up the team and result from this game today, but they never seem to put things on there on Sundays

Kettering Town 0-3 Leicester City

A youthful Leicester City line up registered a 3-0 victory over Conference North outfit Kettering Town on Sunday afternoon.

Foxes manager Craig Levein used the opportunity to give a number of young players a run out in the blistering heat at Rockingham Road - plus take a look at three overseas trialists in the process.

Richard Stearman and Alan Sheehan were both included in the Leicester starting 11, while former Wycombe Wanderers striker Roy Essandoh made his debut for the home side.

City took the lead in the 14th minute of the contest through Ramadani Besnik. The Croatian trialist was left with an easy tap-in after the Kettering goalkeeper had spilled a long-range Louis Dodds shot.

The Foxes doubled their advantage eight minutes before the break. James Wesolowski (pictured) played a neat one-two with Chris O'Grady before slotting the ball home from 12-yards.

And substitute Ricky Muggleton completed the scoring when he added the third with just three minutes of the game remaining following good work from O'Grady.

Kettering's best opportunity of the game came from the penalty spot on the hour mark after a City trialist brought down Poppies striker Matt Peacock inside the box - but Scott Goodwin was only able to drag the spot-kick wide of the target.

The senior Leicester squad will now spend Monday at the Loughborough University training complex before jetting off for a two-game tour of Norway the following day.

City: Logan, Stearman, Sheehan (Franklin 83), Wesolowski, Trialist, Trialist (Smedley 65), Dodds, Wright (Graham 47), O'Grady, Besnik (trialist) (Wykes 65), Porter (Muggleton 75).
Subs not used: Norvall.

Hmm...wonder who the 2 unnamed trialists are. One of them is probably Timpano.

I tried searching on Google for Ramadani Besnik, but it just brought up Kick Boxing websites.. Go on Stevie, you look, you're good at finding these guys ;)

Timpano and Bara played at CB today, both did ok, nothing special really, both made mistakes on occasion. Weso and Porter very pacy and skillful good on the break. Didnt think much of the forward line, o'grady and the other bloke, didnt do much IMO.

I hope Weso and Porter are included in the squad to go to Norway. We don't have much cover for either wing, so it would be good to see those two coming through as soon as possible to challenge for a place in the team, or at least to provide decent backup. They can both play anywhere across the midfield can't they?

I've never seen Weso play, and just seen Porter once when England U18s were on Sky earlier in the season. Porter looked good when I saw him though, he was the best player on the pitch in that game (cant remember who it was against, it was around Easter time though).

Porter is very very quick and skillful.
another player that went to my school

Did we play this lot last year and if so, what was the result ? :) :) ;)
