In-form United striker Danny Graham has been awarded the Powerade League One Player of the Month award for August.

Graham, who bagged five goals in just four League games in the opening month of the season, beat off stiff competition from Matt Fryatt, Jermaine Beckham and Chris Taylor to receive the accolade.

It only seems to be strikers that get nominated, which is bizarre really when you consider that our defence has conceded quite a few less goals than the next nearest, I don't know what they would have to do to be nominated.

they would have to be watched by a representative who would see the performances, player of the month shite is judged by people looking at the top scorers list and so on. I'm astounded that Backforth didn't win and would love to hear 'thewhites' opinion on that
