Laptop Battery

This happening everyday now.
My battery fully charges on my laptop then the AC power cuts off and the laptop powers on just the battery. When the battery dies, i plug AC back in again and about ten minutes later and the battery charges again, gets fully charged and then the AC cuts out again.

I dont think it is due to overheating.

Anyone know whats wrong?

well the battery charges and then goes on to AC power (the battery symbol disappears and a plug symbol appears when you hover over it it says something like - on AC power).

then this symbol stops and it goes back to battery symbol

it sounds like a dodgy power supply.
Is there any kind of LED light on the transformer box?
What condition are the cables in?

brand new cables! the power light is on on the transformer box.

its like the laptop overheated and so the AC power cuts off.

Its odd though as soon as the power dies i can turn off and a few minutes later it re-charges.

Even if your laptop was overheating that shouldn't affect the power supply.
Does the light stay lit on the transformer the whole time?

Even if your laptop was overheating that shouldn't affect the power supply.

all i have to new is shut the lid and within minutes its charging again.
