In August last year people were concerned that all Nigel had brought in was a third choice left back. It has been interesting to read what members were saying at the time in a thread called "Great Expectations?" and a later thread after the game against Monaco called "Is anybody else worried?"
I will not name the prophets of doom though it is easy to look them up. The previous season we had a wafer thin squad and had since lost Kane and Keane (sic). "There will be nothing doing this season" "Won't do much this season" "The club is screwed we have no money to improve while Forest are buying decent players left right and centre" "Vardy is not good enough" and on and on.
There were two exceptions to the gloom.
Homer made a post that had no point whatever but still included an obscenity.
Perhaps wisest of all was M17 who pointed out that many of us expected promotion under Sven and so he was happy that so many people felt we were doomed.
