Leicester City U18 3-3 Bristol City U18
Posted on: Sat 08 Nov 2008
A last minute header from Tom Parkes rescued a point for Leicester City's academy side as they drew 3-3 with Bristol City at Belvoir Drive on Saturday.
The Foxes had let a 2-1 half time lead slip before the defender stuck in the dying moments.
Leicester had the advantage in the 15th minute as good wing play from Billy Kee eventually fell to Ricky Sappleton who found the net from close range.
Robbie Burns squandered an opportunity to double Leicester's lead on 20 minutes before Marlon Jackson levelled for the visitors with a header a minute later.
Cian Bolger narrowly headed over from an Adam Vasey corner ten minutes before the break.
But Leicester restored their advantage moments later as Bolger once again connected with a Vasey corner and made no mistake with his glancing header.
Ben Milnes was unlucky not to make it 3-1 five minutes after the restart as his shot was deflected wide.
But the game was turned on it's as a strike from Joe Lennox (61) and a penalty from Jackson (78) looked to have secured the points for the visitors.
Sappleton muscled his way into the box three minutes from time but his shot rebounded off the crossbar before Parkes latched onto a Luke O'Neill cross to salvage a point for the Foxes.
