Due to be played week commencing 18th December

Well there's a surprise!

Edit: The opponents not the date.

Well at least it is at home, although as Man City 'only' have Bournemouth at home the following Saturday, they can afford to put out their first team against us!

So the «big» four avoid each other. How many times did they have to do the draw to get that result? Explains the «technical issues» maybe.

Edit: No, BN hasn’t hacked my TB user.

Strange how those very draws of Chelsea vs Bournemouth and Bristol City vs Man Utd were "leaked" over half an hour before they were officially made.

Perhaps the draw kept bringing up West Ham vs Leicester City and Arsenal vs Man City a few times or the other way around a few times before they eventually got what they wanted.

It's a surprise tbh that us and Bristol got home draws. However perhaps they thought to have the big 4 all at home would have been too unbelievable.

Who cares? You've got to beat the best to be the best.

That was fabulous fun. When I was young the Football League ran the game in this country...until their ineptitude & complacency turned them into a 2nd rate joke living off scraps.

Now their showpiece competition is taken seriously by nobody whatsoever & they're forced to kiss the arses of whoever can be bothered to sponsor it.

First it was a laughable first round draw with teams being drawn twice, then they had a draw in China at 4 in the ****ing morning & now this bollocks. A cup draw is the easiest thing in the world. A few balls in a bag for **** sake!

Serves them right. They deserve all of it. ****s.

It's just a shame the game as a whole has to suffer for it.

Our televised match against Crystal Palace carried the proviso "subject to Carabao Cup fixtures" so presumably that could get moved again.

The Palace match is on the Saturday, so I don't see how it can be affected by the cup game, unless they decide it should be played on the Monday, and that won't happen because Sky have a game on the Monday already, Everton v Swansea. That game would have been subject to their Carabao cup fixtures.

Edit: Maybe if we'd been knocked out and Everton or Swansea were in the quarter finals, they'd have swapped the TV games so ours would be on the Monday and theirs on the Saturday.

I can't bring to mind any or many of your many thousands of post with which I've liked but you are absolutely right on this one. It's an ok draw. We are at home; it's attractive opposition and will attract interest ; we/they can choose how strong a side to put out; you can't win any competition without beating a top side and Man City are the top side. It's fine.

Not an ideal draw but it’s at home at least.

You’re not going to win a cup without playing a good team along the way. And it’s better to get them now than in the semis. Much more chance of beating them over one leg than two!

Surely they will put out out a mixed side. We have a chance.

So will we no doubt. If our mixed side are anywhere near as shit as they were in the first half against Leeds, we’ll get battered.

Man City frighten me. They are so effing good at the moment. Their movement, their passing.... it's a joy to behold. Still, I guess the Ribena Cup is different and they weren't so sharp against Wolves.

Leicester City’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester City will be televised on Sky Sports.

The game has been confirmed for Tuesday, December 19 (7.45 kick-off).
