HEARTS are close to finally agreeing a fee with Bristol City for Lee Miller, and the striker could be a permanent Jambo before Saturday's Edinburgh derby.
Tynecastle chief executive Phil Anderton has made a third bid, which is in excess of £200,000, for the player after having two previous offers rejected by the Bristol board.
Miller cost City £325,000 from Falkirk two years ago but a lack of first-team involvement saw him head north on loan to Hearts in January. Since then he has scored ten goals in just 18 appearances.
Hearts could have made the transfer a permanent one at the time for a little more than £100,000, the decision to stall on an original deal proving costly as the striker’s value has risen with every bulge of the net whilst in a maroon shirt. Now, though, Anderton’s third and possibly final offer is likely to be enough to keep Miller in the Capital and fend off other interested parties, rumoured to include Rangers and Craig Levein’s Leicester City.
