Another great weekend, Rage Against the Machine were, IMO, as amazing as I could have hoped, would have liked to see the Guantanamo Bay intro they did at Reading but the were still very very good.

Queens of the Stoneage were brilliant, as were Metallica, Tenacious D and Feeder. Killers were a big let down, as was Serj Tankien(sp).

Bullet for my Valentine were good, also saw Seasick Steve, anyone who likes Bluegrass or Country will like him.

Didn't get to see much of Flogging Molly as I wanted, but what I saw was good. It was like every punk had come back out of retirement to watch them though!

Some excellent comedy and poetry aswell, Excentral Tempest and Byron Vincent in particular for the poetry, and Adam Hills and Rob Rouse in the comedy.

What were other peoples view?

I saw extended highlights of only 3 bands:- Metallica, the Manics, and The Cribs, and all 3 bands looked on top form.

yet no rage against the machine!

They have barred all media outlets from recording their gigs, from what I've heard they don't want to feed the corporation pockets or something similar. Plus they can then bring out a DVD which, on their past form, will probably all be donated to charities.

quotsa, metallica , rage, manics superb

the music i was well impressed and glasvegas loved that,

mgmt were class.

just had 16 hours sleep so will inform on the rest once i wake up a bit

We where up until gone 3 on Sunday night making sure our tent wasn't burnt down! What campsite where you in? Did you see the tree that they set on fire in the Orange camp, fecking twats! I found it difficult to sleep last night without the pop of gas canisters on a fire!

i was over in green. Orange seems to be the nobhead camp each year. i didnt see the tree but i did see them sliding down the hill on there bellies during the day.

i was up til about 3/4 drinking. group of paddies and cockney where having a right pop at each other for about an hour. thought that were gonna kick off. Then we had ago at some f*rest gits.:icon_lol:

thought The Killers were ace. Fratellis, We Are Scientists, Subways, Plain White T's and Raconteurs are all chronically average

Feeder are magic and Ting Tings were funny

Dizzee Rascal is shit, but different

didn't see as many as i wanted, got dragged to see a load of shite by the bird (see average above)

Tenacious D: The Two Ronnies with guitars, who cares?

Rage, hilarious and shouty-great

sleep: didn't really happen, had some utter mongs next to us throwing and burning stuff

wanted to see MGMT and Vampire Weekend but got voted against :(

Hadouken were ace

memo to self: don't take bird along. if you park, move the car near the exit before you leave, that way you can bomb out early. oh and go through the cones when you see them

I think with the Killers it maybe depended on where you stood, we where next to the "Giant Yourkshire Pudding" van more or less on the left side of the main stage and could barely hear them.

As the case most of the time at festivals....:icon_roll If you aren't far enough away and you ain't dead centre, them bloody speaker pylons they install just don't carry.

That's the thing, some acts sounded superb from the same spot.

Haduken - very good
The Music - excellent
Metallica - excellent (even if not my cup o' brew)
Scientists - Shit
MGMT - very good
Vampire Weekend - good
Queens Of The Stone Age - Best of the weekend. Right at the front and got flattened
Rage - Very good but hyped up to a level they were never going to achieve
Justice - Loved chucking some shapes around to these. Excellent.

They are the sets I can remember seeing, didn't bother with Sunday nights headliners (Killers and Manics) as I would sooner smoke my own shit, so we got whacked up on goofballs and threw some spins in the Duracell tent. Mad weekend but I feel like a corpse today.

sounds like we went to see a fair few of the same bands.

Think i emptied my imaginary bag o'shapes by the end of the weekend.disco biscuits agogo.

Feeling good today. 16 hours kip in a proper bed sorts you out.
