I haven’t seen a display of incompetence so deep, so obvious and so inevitable in many a year of watching and working in professional sports.

Every single level from boardroom, to manager, to players, to ticket staff is riddled with rot.

Danny Ward is the physical embodiment of that rot. Any entity that finds itself relying on someone like Ward in a key moment is showing signs of ineptitude and largesse that simply cannot be ignored.
