Does Vardy need an op?

I think he's playing within himself. He's clearly feeling that sore hip/groin and his record of three goals (one of these a pen) in his last ten PL games isn't great. He's had plenty of chances, but he's not quite delivering his usual exceptional standard of finishing.

He missed more chances in this game as he has in any PL match he's ever played in. Is it just a blip or is he playing when he shouldn't be but he/BR feel he has to? He's not training much.

To me, he's playing like a Vardy imitator at the moment. He looks like him, and he does most of the things he does, but the edge isn't there.

I tend to agree. But it's understandable.

Has probably never quite got over watching Beckham ascend to the status of immortal demigod despite playing right next to him for all those years & being twice the player.

That'd give me a long lasting case of the right hump too.

On the other hand he's a ginger shortarse so what did he expect?

You need to be realistic in this world. We all know the rules. Agree with them or not, they're still the rules.

That's pretty much every central defender who ever played the game. It's that sort of position. So much of it is about timing, positioning & working as part of a unit. Takes time to adapt.

Steve Walsh & Gerry Taggart were both ****ing awful in their first half dozen games for us.

On the other hand, Julian Watts was a model of calmness, good timing and positioning in that run at the end of the 95-96 season. After that, not so much.

He can be a bit one paced but usually finishes strongly.

No one is denying Shinji was a crucial part of our title winning campaign. However, Perez is a far more effective player as the statistics show.
