Referee: Stuart Attwell.
Assistants:
Con Hatzidakis, Nick Hopton.
Fourth official:
Simon Hooper.
VAR:
Graham Scott.
Assistant VAR: Neil Davies.

RvN says: Odsonne Edouard back from injury and may be added to Tuesday's squad.

So that's good news then.
🙄

presumably Buonanotte not allowed to play?
He was pretty awful against West Ham so a rest may do him good.

With him out I'd be tempted to try and get El Khannouss in the middle where he did so well against WH. We could do that by starting McAteer and Mavididi as the wide players but I'm pretty sure that's not what he will do.

I think it'll be the same team with Skipp or Winks (if fit) in for Buonanotte.

Winks not fit.

Head-to-head

  • Leicester are without a victory in the past four Premier League meetings (D2, L2).
  • However, the Seagulls have won just once on their past 13 visits to Leicester in all competitions (D5, L7).

Leicester City

  • Leicester are hoping to win consecutive top-flight home matches for the first time since May 2022.
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy could become just the third Leicester manager, after Claudio Ranieri and Craig Shakespeare, to win his first two Premier League games in charge of the club.
  • Van Nistelrooy is unbeaten in each of his last 21 matches as a manager across spells with PSV, Manchester United and Leicester.
  • The Foxes have scored in 13 of their 14 league games this campaign, the exception being a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, who were managed by Van Nistelrooy.
  • Jamie Vardy has had 100 goal involvements in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium, scoring 73 and assisting 27.

Brighton & Hove Albion

  • Brighton's tally of 23 points is their highest after 14 top-flight matches of a season.
  • The Seagulls are aiming to win a fourth away league game, which would equal their total for the whole of 2023-24.
  • Albion have dropped points in 11 of their past 15 Premier League fixtures against promoted opposition (D7, L4).
  • Danny Welbeck is one short of equalling Pascal Gross as Brighton's 30-goal leading Premier League scorer.
  • Joao Pedro has been involved in seven goals in eight league appearances this season, scoring four and providing three assists.

Will be interesting to see if things have improved further and on the same trajectory as how much things improved in the two days Ruud had before the West Ham game. Kind of hopeful we can get something from this game which is in complete contrast to how I'd have felt had we still had Cooper at the helm.

If we allow them as many shots as we did the Hammers we'll get an absolute mauling. That's my main worry really. The fact that Saints grabbed a point at their place (& deserved it) is grounds for hope though.
If we could even remotely defend I'd be a lot happier.

Hopefully we can continue to build the confidence. it will be interesting see how the players have adapted to RvN tactics during the week.

The more points we can collect up to the January transfer window the better.
