Just had a thought. Presuming, as at the end of last season, that Snapey won't play championship matches, have we actually named a 'County Championship' captain?

The lack of communication from this club is frankly pathetic.

I think hes still captain and will start the season in the side as a specialist batsman. Although I can't see him proving to be good enough to justify a place in the side yet again.

No, I think I read somewhere at the end of last season that they accepted it wasn't working. Would be a joke, especially with Mansoor Amjad basically playing the same role.

First XI for Weds?

Can see Allenby playing the Maddy role this season in all comps - batting all-rounder. If Snape plays it will have to be at the expense of of one of the top 6 which would leave us really short in batting, or at the expense of one of the bowlers which would leave us short of pace.

Hes been captain for the pre-season games which leads me to believe he will start on Wednesday. Unless he'll be captain for the OD games and Robinson for the CC games, which is a possibility I guess.

I assumed he would be captain for the OD games - rightly so after last year as well and he is still officially club captain.
