I heard this on the radio this morning, I had to smile. I had never before thought of the indigenous pupulation of Lesbos as being Lesbians?

Any others spring to mind?

Why Lesbian as the word for an islander from Lesbos? Is it the pukka Greek term or not? Even in English might it not be Lesbossian?
