oh ffs this isn't FIFA manager or whatever that game is!

5 simply means he had an average game. it's the middle of the ratings which means it's average!

tbh Gilbert would've got a 6, but for his two feck ups which could've cost us.
Martin had buggar all to do.
Hobbs is just...well put it this way, I'm glad he has Tunchev there to watch over him!

Dyer and Fryatt were both quiet by their standards this seasons.

I think my ratings are more than fair tbh.

Seems strange because the only serious mistake I can remember a defender making was when Tunchev let the ball bounce over him and it was Hobbs that cleared the danger.

But overall this season, which defender would you trust more?

Obviously Tunchev IS going to make mistakes, but he hasn't made many so far, compared to the other defenders.

And Hobbs distribution is gash, which is another reason why he never seems to impress me too much I guess!

Re: Leyton Orient Player Ratings and AVERAGES

As a mathmagenius I would like to point out to Beaumont Fox that to suggest 5 is an average score is incorrect. Words like mean or median would be more appropriate but 'average' certainly not. To acheive an average of 5 there must be an equal number of ratings above and below 5 to create this average.
e.g. as an example to prove the point for every 9 there has to be a 1. for every 8 there has to be a 2. etc. Given a brief analysis of scores over this current season the true average is nearer 6.8. So in order to conform to his stated premise BF (apt) is scoring 2 points down

I suggest that we can add these 2 points to his weekly scores to get at what he really means.

I'm not talking about the average score of the players altogether, I'm talking about the the middle bit inbetween 1 and 10. which is 5(or indeed 6 if you want to be picky!) because it's the score for ONE player.

I know what a mean/median is(well might be a tad hazy remembering back to my schooldays!), which is why I never used those words.

so NER!:icon_razz

And your mistake has already been pointed out.:icon_lol:

It's an interesting topic tho' BF.

For me, if a player has an Ok game, nothing great, nothing poor, then I would give them a 6 (so that is my "average" or start point I suppose.

To me:
10 - would need to totally dominate a Premiership side, so unlikely to award this (and never have)
9 - would be excellent, or sometimes used if several players get 8 & I feel one was above the others
8 - Very Good game
7 - Steady performance, with some good play that I recall
6 - Average game
5 - Means below par
4 - Poor game
3 - Poor game and the players direct actions cost us points
2 - Put absolutely no effort into the game at all & made loads of mistakes
1 - Never want the player to wear the shirt again

Never given a 1 or 2 on here, Nathan Blake would have been given a 1 for one of his home performances had we been doing the scores at the time.

So how do others do the 10 to 1 countdown

If you say 5 is average, then you have to be able to award both 10's and 0's, not one or the other.

10 - 0
9 - 1
8 - 2
7 - 3
6 - 4

5 all on it's own and dead in the middle.

If you aren't ever going to award a 0 or a 10 then 5 is still the average.

I guess Football Manager is the problem here, for me an average (the 'start position', ex on the pitch and never touches the ball) would be a 6.

Anyway, Davies easily man of the match and good I got to see a victory. Gate closes in 10 mins, got to go...

I've said that for a long time - if a player on FM keeps getting 6's with the odd 7, I get rid.

I thought you had fcuked off!

I HAD..........

But during moments of total tedium when i need to move out of the real world into the fantasy and unstable headspaces of the majority of cretins who persist in posting inate and infantile rubbish on here I have a read for amusement purposes.

At the same time I thought it helpful to suggest that BF had got his numbers in a twist (amonst other things). True to form the predictable responses duly arrived.

GROW UP YOU FOUL MOUTHED CREATURE.

LOL.

But I hadn't.:icon_roll

You wrongly assumed I was using the 5 as a team average and I wasn't.
I use 5 as my starting point and then mark players up or down accordingly. How hard is that to understand?:icon_eek:

And you are still getting a major point wrong yourself.:icon_roll
