Will anybody be travelling back after the game in the Loughborough/Birstall direction with a spare seat in the car? If so could you offer me a lift up to the Leicester North services at the junction of the A6 and A46?

I booked a cheapo room at the Ibis there but then found out that the lift that I had hoped for will not be available - something about booking the afternoon off work and will not be in a fit state to drive by the end of the game!

Not sure whether buses will be running that way at that time of night and I'm not keen on the walk, so I'm desperate.

I'm pretty sure the Skylink bus goes right past there. Runs through the night. Will take you to Derby if you fall asleep.

If the above fails, drop me a PM. I'll be off to Birstall afterwards, from Regent Road.

After the home game? I'll drop you off Boc if you are ok walking to the car, about a mile. I know your legs are old!

I see he's weighing up all alternatives!

Ha! Not at all. I should have said this morning that I would be at work all day and not able to respond until this evening.

:icon_eek: Do I really want to risk finishing up in Derby?

Seriously though when I enquired about this service when I first stayed up there, I was told that it wasn't for intermediate journeys and hence there were no fares for such - I would have to pay the airport fare (not that any fare is particularly relevant because I just have to flash my ENCTS card and I go for free). Their website does seem to suggest however that this is no longer so.

Thanks for the suggestion.

There are buses that go that way from St Margaret's bus station at 22:05 and 23:05

Thanks, Jeff. I was aware of these services but I don't think I could get to St Margarets by 22:05 and I don't really want to hang about until 23:05. Anyway the ENCTS fairy thinks that all pensioners should be tucked up at home by 11!

Plus, as BM mentioned, the airport bus leaves St Margaret's at 5 minutes to the hour, every hour. For some reason Traveline doesn't show it as an option.

Perhaps Traveline still thinks intermediate journeys are not allowed.

Thanks to both. I'll PM you.

Walk into town have a few cheeky ones and with the money saved on your cheap accommodation and by not buying long trousers get a taxi back you tight fisted old bacon . Next time take a look at the large hotel shaped building next to the ground.

"tight fisted old bacon" and "large hotel shaped building next to the ground" do not sit well together in the same paragraph. And besides I'd like to get to sleep long before the drinkers will be leaving that venue.

You will of course have the decency to take a blanket to go under your legs?
I believe the Spring moult starts about now doesn't it?

You must be confusing me with one of your sheep.
