After weeks of speculation, it's now official:

Lloyd Dyer has today agreed a move to Championship side Watford, bringing to an end his six-year spell as a Leicester City player.
The 31-year-old winger was offered an extension to his City contract, which was due to expire this summer, but has opted to sign a three-year deal with the Hornets, effective from 1 July.

Leicester City Football Club would like to place on record its thanks to Lloyd for his hard work and professionalism during his time in a Foxes shirt and for his considerable contribution to two promotions and the Club’s return to the Premier League. We wish him and his family success in his new challenge at Vicarage Road.

Signed from MK Dons in the summer of 2008, Lloyd was one of only three survivors from City’s League 1-winning squad, along with Andy King and Conrad Logan, that would go on to win promotion to the top flight five years later. During six years with City, he made 265 appearances, returning a healthy 39 goals and thrilling the King Power Stadium faithful with a string of outstanding performances from the left flank.

Lloyd made a big contribution to City’s immediate return to the Championship during his first season with the Foxes and was heavily involved once again the following season as Nigel Pearson’s side narrowly missed out on back-to-back promotions through the play-offs.

He faced a brief battle for his place during Sven Goran Eriksson’s time in charge of the Club, but typically forced his way back into the reckoning before once again becoming a mainstay in the side when Pearson returned to the helm in late-2012.

Dyer’s final season at King Power Stadium saw him make 47 appearances and score 10 goals as City roared to the Sky Bet Championship title, with Lloyd himself scoring the historic goal that clinched the trophy – a typical raid from the left wing and a sensational right-foot finish at Bolton Wanderers’ Reebok Stadium on 22 April.

He departs with the best wishes of everyone at Leicester City Football Club and will always be welcome at King Power Stadium as an opponent, a guest or a friend of the Club.

Couldn't see him being anything more than a bit part player next season.
Good luck in the future Lloyd, and thanks for everything.
Sometimes sublime, sometimes lives Upto his name.

Good luck Lloyd, hope you feel the last couple of seasons have been the best of your career [so far] and look forward to you buzzin' now you're a hornet.

Good luck Lloyd.

Always stuck me as a great professional who just got on with his job. Quick as hell and capable of brilliance. Would the premiership been a step too far? Maybe, but disappointed he's not pushed himself and had faith in his ability to stay and challenge. (Its probably far more complicated than that.)

No probably about it really - pretty well publicised that we offered him one year versus Watford's offer of three years. Absolute no-brainer from his point of view. Everyone's done pretty well out of it I think. We've had 6 years' solid service out of him, Dyer gets his three years, Watford get a very high standard winger for the level they're playing at, and this way there's no chance of him kicking his heels and getting frustrated while younger, faster, better-equipped players get picked ahead of him in the PL.

Great servant, thrilling wing play and a fantastic 6 years service from Lloyd. Surely one of our fastest players and to his credit, I don't think he ever let Stringer collar him for a post-match interview!

Sad to see him go as he could have had an impact next year and he has always been a good player for us but definitely more his loss than ours.

All the best to Lloyd but onwards and upwards here.

One of my favourite players in recent years, sad to see you go Lloydy:022:

But as everyone has said, onwards and upwards.

Gizza kiss Lloydy.

One of the best we've had for a good while and a man who delivered some excellent moments for City fans.

I'll miss him.

Six seasons of the sublime and the ridiculous. Sometimes excellent, sometimes inept. His performances summarise the period in the clubs history very well.

Through it all though, never showed anything other than respect for the shirt and the club and will be remembered fondly.

Just had his best season for us, IMO, and I reckon he is still a better bet for the Premier League than feckin' Albrighton, who is complete shite

We should have offered him a good two year deal
He should have accepted the one year deal that was on offer

Both sides have made a mistake, here

Spot on BN. Just a bit of cult hero about Lloyd.
