Lloyd Dyer may be fit to face Leeds, says Jon Rudkin
Lloyd Dyer could give Leicester City a boost ahead of the visit of Leeds United on Sunday.
The winger missed Tuesday night's victory at Burnley with a groin injury.
But one of City's caretaker managers, Jon Rudkin, said there was a chance Dyer could return, although Darius Vassell will definitely be out with a knee injury, the severity of which is still being assessed.
"We are waiting for information on Lloyd but we are a bit more hopeful with him," said Rudkin.
"Once we get the news we can plan accordingly for Sunday. We are waiting on medical feedback on whether he will be ready, but we hope he could be in our plans.
"Everyone else is fine. Naturally, we will have one or two tired lads after the effort they put into it at Burnley, but they have recovered well and they will be ready for Sunday."
Leeds are still smarting from a heavy 5-0 home drubbing by Blackpool on Wednesday night, and Rudkin believes that makes Simon Grayson's side even more dangerous.
But he added that City were determined to make up for their own poor performance last time they appeared at the King Power Stadium, the 3-0 defeat to Millwall which led to the departure of Sven-Goran Eriksson.
"I am sure Simon is looking for a reaction from the other night," said Rudkin.
"But this is a fresh game for them and what has gone on in the past is history.
"More importantly, it is how we approach the game. I think the momentum the players have created since the latter half of the West Ham United game, means they can't wait to get out there and face Leeds.
"They want to continue the momentum and put pressure on those above us in the table."
City look set to continue with the strike partnership of Steve Howard and David Nugent, which has proved so effective since the second-half comeback at Upton Park.
Rudkin praised veteran Howard for his professionalism after finding himself out of the side under Eriksson.
"Steve has been terrific," added Rudkin. "He is a top professional.
"He has been in the game a long time and has shown over the last couple of games what options we do have in attack.
"We have a lot of variety and Steve is a part of a very good forward line-up."
