Leicester City are already back in the Championship next season.
That is the view of bookmakers Mark Jarvis who, from today, are paying punters who backed Nigel Pearson's men for promotion.
There are still more than three months of the season to run but Jarvis think that the race is already over. Jarvis's Ben Coley said: "From today we will be paying out anyone who backed City for promotion before yesterday.
"We have been looking back at the statistics for the last few seasons.
"We reckon they need to average only one point a game for the rest of the season to go up and they are averaging more than two.
"We could get our fingers burned but it is going to take something dramatic to stop them now.
"And, as we have said before, this is the sort of bet we don't mind paying out on."
Coley said that the odds against City winning promotion would now be so prohibitive, at about 1-20, that no-one would want to back them.
He said that settling the promotion bets would cost the firm about £2,500 to £3,000.
But Jarvis face a far bigger pay-out if City clinch the League One title.
Coley said the current title odds were 1-4, compared with the 6-1 they were offering before the start of the campaign.
Those odds were immediately cut to 4-1 after City won their opening two games of the season.
They were 11-4 joint favourites after the first month and have been shortening ever since as they have dominated the title race.
