Perfect choice for me, superb track record has managed at the highest level and has proven, with his time at Villa, that he can improve a team with money.
As for tactically I don't think he has lost it, formations come and go, but our current squad are very similar in style to how has has liked his teams to set up and play. His approach to sports science will be critical and hopefully he will embrace the current set up.
I see a lot of similarities with Pearson, both seem to have a similar man management styles and both built squads based on tight knit team spirit, containing young hungry players and a smattering of experienced pro's with a point to prove. Both managers expect their teams to have a strong work ethic and work rate off the ball particularly important.
I actually think MON is a brilliant replacement and provides some form of continuity in terms of outlook and style, he would have the support of the majority of our fans and I think the players would be behind him.
As for spoiling what he achieved previously, nothing can ever take those achievements away and I honestly believe that given the resources available MON can have a successful 2nd spell at the club much in the same way Pearson enjoyed success when he returned.
