Of course you will all in turn come to your own conclusions regarding Fryatt when you watch him for yourself. However, from my personal experience of watching him week in week out I would advise you not to get too excited about the prospect of Fryatt in the Championship. Fryatt is a lazy player who does not work hard. If Leicester are able to put quality in the box for him then he will deliver but he will not go and fight for the ball and create his own chances. He has let Walsall down stating on the morning of a game that he was unable to play because he had a cold. There is no disputing his goal tally this season however, 9 of his goals this season have been from the penalty spot and for a youngster he is very slow. Fryatt scored a hat trick for England under 19's and that really made clubs interested naturally, but for me his attitude needs sorting out and his work rate needs to improve. If you can sort that and he can get physically stronger as he will need to against Championship defenders you may benefit from this signing.

like you said all about opinions ive read rave reviews about him from your fellow fans but thanks anyway :icon_bigg :icon_wink

Thanks for your views, it will be interesting to see how he fairs here. Leicester's real problem at the moment IMO is the lack of a goal scorer, a poacher if you like, so Fryatt may well fit the bill. Time will tell.

Sounds like just what we need - We dont need someone who creates their own chances, we have plenty of them.

We need a Dickov/cottee type of player, a real goal poacher. Like duzzer said we create the chances, lets hope fryatt can stand in the 18 yard box and put them away!

against huddersfield?

Yes, it looks as though it was the first of his hat-trick against them on 29th January of last year. Walsall were 2-nil down after 11 minutes and 3-1 down after 33 minutes - finished up winning 4-3.

Good to know he likes come-backs!

So how is that letting the side down?

Some players would have said nothing and had a bad game.

footballers are not people they are robots, they are not alowed to have colds you know......

Yes I agree it is a great goal a volley from outside the area. Plenty of players have scored a volley from outside the area but it does not make them world beaters.

After that goal Fryatt was drafted in to play for England due to injuries. He is not a regular choice for England and is over rated in my opinion. Merson has been clever in the media, mentioning his england goals at every available opportunity as we need the money to clear debts. It will be interesting to hear your views after tomorrow. I can assure you his lazy attitude and his slow pace (due to him being flat footed) will find himself off side some 15 times. He is a frustrating player. If someone can run themselves into the ground and create 10 penalties for you then he will convert these for you. Good Luck for the remainder of the season!

In fairness to this guy, the hearts fans were mainly spot in thier assessment of CL and the players, bar the one about him not playing attractive football. IMO we have been very attractive in recent weeks just with no result. So maybe what this guy says could be true, however, it is true to say the fryatt will have to do very little other than being clinical in order to score goals for us.

Hi,

you can't argue with Fryatts goals for us , him being Walsall's top scorere and all BUT i honestly believe that 1) he should have added at least another 5or 6 from sitters he has missed, and 2) Any other player standing there would have done the same.
We persisted with Matty when at times he shouldn't have played.
He is prone to stamping his feet when he gets critisized ( like when he phoned up on matchday to say he felt ill and couldn't play !), he can be lazy to. Pace................no more than most players. Definately not his best asset.
We lost our best player when Leitao went, not Matty.

If you have someone to do all the donkey work and run around for him then Mattys your man. I hope he does do ok for you so we get more money but i am not sure he is good enough for championship to be honest.
Good business for us and a risk taken by Levine.
Sometimes risks pay off, sometimes they don't.....the jury is out eh???????
