Talented Leicester City youngster Kasey McAteer has joined Sky Bet League Two side Forest Green Rovers on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who joined City’s Academy at the age of eight, made his Premier League debut in a 4-0 win against Newcastle United at King Power Stadium in December and has also been on the bench on four other occasions this season.

In January, he featured for the Foxes in their 4-1 Emirates FA Cup victory against Watford, alongside fellow Academy graduate Lewis Brunt, and has also made 17 appearances in all competitions for Leicester City’s Development Squad this campaign, scoring twice.

McAteer will now link up with Sky Bet League Two leaders Forest Green Rovers ahead of their upcoming game against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday 29 January (3pm kick-off).

Good move for him as FGR will be a good team to move to and getting used to a winning mentality.

Clearly a few years off our current level though.

Hopefully some of the others the featured in the FA Cup can get similar moves.
