According to Thracian we have been sniffing around this player again. Do we need another Centre Half? :102: :102: :102:

Leicester again eye McAuley

It is interesting that Leicester City have again been linked with Lincoln City's 26-year-old Northern Ireland centre-back Gary McAuley.

The Lincolnshire Echo website reveals that City eyes were watching McAuley when he returned from injury to help the Imps draw 1-1 with Bury on Saturday.

McAuley is a dominant defender and a goal threat. It is significant with our poor record of defending set pieces that we are keeping tabs on just the sort of player who might improve that weakness.

A move somewhere seems likely because McAuley feels his international options might be limited playing in Division two.

Earlier this season Crewe had a bid of £150,000 accepted for McAuley but the deal fell through.

You would think not as it's probably the position we have the most quality cover for. But having said that both Nissa and Gerrbrand might want away due to either being either played out of position or not being played at all.
Also they're two players who might command a bit of interest on the open market and therefore a "decent" transfer fee....

maybe this means that one of our more established centre backs are on their way out?:icon_eek:

tbh as long as it isnt McCarthy goin i dont particularly care about the others, although it would be nice to get a settled back four ready for next season.

Kisnorbo is just as important IMO, and they look a good balanced pairing. Not sure about Gerrbrand, i think hes a good tackler and reads the play well but hes not strong enough or good enough in the air against some of the big 'pub team' strikers in this division like dichio and parkin

I am certian players will be going this summer, ones that are in our first team it is inevitable for financial reasons, so this would make sense if a centre back is leaving.

Although it is up to RK now, the plan is to make minimal changes this summer
